WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY?
A purpose built guesthouse, Abbey Court is located on over two acres of landscaped gardens on the Wild Atlantic Way, Ring of Kerry and metres from the sea shore. It is the perfect place to relax with luxurious rooms designed and furnished with your comfort in mind. Our en-suite bedrooms are all individually decorated with beautiful antique pine. The attention to detail echoes the care given. White sheets, warm blankets and fluffy white pillows.
Abbey Court also boasts two sitting rooms, one on each floor, incorporating a library and a writing area. Both are decorated in old charm English oak wood furniture.
Our four course Full Irish breakfast is served in a room overlooking the bay while listening to some soft Irish music. The idea of the traditional Full Irish Breakfast is to feed you enough to last to lunchtime. For lighter tastes or continental breakfast can be catered for. We will also cater for special dietary requests once prior notice is given.
Abbey Court is an excellent B&B with all aspects exceeding expectations. The rooms and other facilities are excellent. It is a bit of a walk to the shops and restaurants, but nothing too onerous. We were there during the period of the tropical storm Ophelia and stayed 2 nights more than the originally planned 2 nights as the roads were in bad shape, electricity was out, etc. Geraldine and Brendan are great hosts who went way out of their way to assist us during the period that even shops and restaurants were closed. They even provided us with an evening meal without our even asking. Excellent place and hosts.
Very friendly, very good, nice room, excellent breakfast
A lovely place to stay. Brendan and Geraldine were very welcoming and extremely helpful with ideas and directions of where to visit. We were on motorbikes and they found us some roads which were challenging, to say the least. Breakfasts were great, with a wide choice. If there was one slight complaint, it was more like 15 minutes walk from the town centre rather than 5, however that helped with the digestion after the excellent meals we had in Kenmare.
Abbey Court is just a five minute stroll from Kenmare town centre.
From Dublin Airport, take M1. Exit 9 to M50 South. Roundabout, 2nd exit South. Junction with M7 branch left, follow signs for Cork. Next roundabout, 2nd exit, through Kildare & Portlaoise. In Cashel follow signs for Cork. In Mitchelstown, follow signs for Killarney. In Mallow follow signs for Killarney. At Rathmore, take Kenmare road (N570). Two junctions on this road, first take the Kenmare road, second take left fork. At N22 junction, turn left. Continue until Salmon Leap Farm on right, turn right (R569). You will first pass through the village of Kilgarvan. Abbey Court is located along this road immediately after the ruins of the old abbey and on the sea side.
